Amy Pfaffman’s degree in industrial design from Rhode Island School of Design in 1990 cemented her appreciation for functional objects. In her jewelry she elevates functional objects to art using cold connections and mechanical joints paired with sterling silver. As jewelry, the ordinary becomes ornament, and we look at it in an entirely different way. She hopes to inspire others to appreciate the beauty in the things they use every day and know that great thought was put into their design.

Originally from Birmingham, Ala., she currently lives and works in San Francisco.
